“It’s like 2:30. I’m coming over, I’ve got to talk to you.”
“Oh, Lainy, I don’t feel like―”
“Too bad. I’ll be there in 20 minutes.” Lainy hung up. August was only slightly annoyed at having to deal with this intrusion of reality, but she also had to admit that she really did need to get some of this off her chest, and she couldn’t think of anyone she’d rather tell than Lainy.
